Polo Zanotto in Verona, where the Summer School takes place

The School will be held at the Department of Human Sciences of the University of Verona, Italy. The Department of Human Sciences is a multidisciplinary institution constituted by five closely interacting research areas: anthropology, pedagogy, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. We invite applications from Master students and Erasmus students. The official language of the School is English.

Who can apply

The summer school is especially intended for incoming Erasmus students at the University of Verona, and for Master students interested in social justice. 

How to apply – Deadline May 31st NOTE EXTENDED DEADLINE JUNE 21st!

Send an email to the following email address: infohss@ateneo.univr.it by JUNE 21st, 2022, using “Summer School Application” as the object and including as attachments: 

  1. a CV; 
  2. an accompanying letter describing your current area of studies, research or professional activity, and your motivation in participating to the Summer School “Human Sciences and Social Justice” (max 600 words). 

Notification of acceptance

The organizing committee will select candidates and send a notification of acceptance by June 30th, 2022
Approved candidates must register by July 31st, 2022

Deadlines

  • April 1st: call for applications is open 
  • May 31st, 2022: submission of the application for the summer school  
  • June 30th, 2022: notification of acceptance 
  • July 31st, 2022: registration 
  • September 30th, 2022: submission of the report to obtain ECTS and the certificate of completion. 
  • October 30th, 2022: evaluation of the essays by the teaching staff and production of the certificate of completion. 

Credits (ECTS)

In order to obtain a certificate of completion providing 6 ECTS, registered participants must both: 

  1. Attend the full programme on site. 
  2. Submit a short report by September 30th, 2022 (further indications and guidance will be provided by teaching staff). 

The Venue

The summer school will take place at the Polo Zanotto at the University of Verona (Viale Università, 4 – 37129 Verona).

The Polo Zanotto is located in the “Veronetta” district of Verona, located at the left shore of the river Adige and close to the city-centre (10 minutes by walk).

In the nearby there are hotels and B&B that offer numerous possibilities for accomodation.

The city of Verona is an enchanting place, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture.

By car

By train

Verona Porta Nuova, or Verona Porta Vescovo Railway Station, on the Milano-Venezia line. For timetables check the Trenitalia website

By plane

Verona city centre is about 12 km from Verona airport (Valerio Catullo), 126 Km from Venice airport (Marco Polo), 150 Km from Milano-Linate airport, 116 km from Milano Bergamo airport, 140 from Bologna airport and 202 km from Milano Malpensa airport.

Moving around by bus
